Band of Birds worked with Sheffield based outdoor production company Coldhouse to produce a series of animated maps for their latest feature, 'Place of the Gaels'. The film charts the journey of a group of American climbers sampling the delights of an unpredictable Scottish Winter which translated into a full challenge of recreating the weather in the different maps!
Shauna Coxsey and Entre-Prises Climbing Walls today announce a partnership that will see one of the world’s top climber’s promote the climbing wall manufacturer’s ‘Clip ‘n Climb’ product.
As climbing continues to rise in popularity with access to the sport now easier than ever, Clip ‘n Climb offers a fun, developmental and convenient way for leisure centres and wider businesses across the globe to meet the growing appetite for this sport.
Comprising over 36 unique climbing related activities, Clip ‘n Climb challenges the physical and mental abilities of climbers young and old.
Pro-climber Shauna Coxsey says: “My first experience of climbing was at a local indoor wall. Growing up in Runcorn I didn’t know anyone who climbed, but it wasn’t long before I was hooked. Clip ‘n Climb is a fantastic way to give climbing a go, challenge yourself and have a lot of fun whilst doing so!
Entre-prises UK Director Steve Hilton says: “Every visitor experiences the same enjoyment and the same satisfaction in rising to a challenge, whatever it may be! Some confront their fear of heights, while others test their physical strength, speed or agility whilst still having fun!”
Band of Birds is hiring for the position of Communications Coordinator.
This is a role for a graduate with unbeatable enthusiasm for outdoor sports. You’ll love living in the Sheffield area for all the outdoor activities the city offers and over the moon that there’s a job in the midst of it all!
But, beyond your passion for cycling, climbing, running… whatever it may be… you’ll be a supremely organised graduate who wants to get stuck into key activities that keep the business operating efficiently and moving forward. And, of course, you’ll be interested in all things comms and social media!
The full description for the role and how to apply is available here and the closing date for applications is Sunday 16th July.
Shauna clinched her 11th IFSC world cup round win in Navi Mumbai yesterday and secured her second IFSC World Cup bouldering overall title in as many years. The achievement was made extra special considering much of the pre-season was disrupted by injury so massive credit must go to her coaching team and to Shauna herself for getting into such unstoppable form within an unideal pre-season.
Huge congratulations to Shauna from everyone at Band of Birds!
We are very excited to be working with Sheffield based Salt Street Productions who have secured an All 4 commission following an open pitch round at Kendal Mountain Festival last year to produce a 6 episode series: 'Britains Abandoned Playgrounds'. The show explores some of Britain's most interesting locations via a group of talented urban athletes.
The show is scheduled for release in Autumn 2017.
